With more and more people buying touchscreen mobiles, the demand for budget smartphones is growing with time. Swipe Konnect Me is one of such attempt to make room in the arena of low budget smartphones. The devices has some good features. After using it for a week, here is the review of the new Swipe smartphone. Specs: Android Kitkat 4.4.2 OS | RAM: 1 GB | Processor: 1.3 GHz dual core processor | Dual sim with 3G support on both | 5MP rear and 1.3MP front cameras | 8 GB Internal and 32GB expandable | Battery: 2450 mAh Price: Rs 3,999 Screen: The phone is equipped with 4.5 inch IPS screen and the touch is normal. Though, low screen resolution is a negative point. Storage: The phone promises 8GB internal memory, but the total internal memory available in the phone is just 6 GB. Out of this only 4GB is free for use. This is a pain point for sure. Thankfully, the memory is expandable up to 32 GB. Performance: Running on a 1.3 Ghz 32-bit dual-core MT6572 processor with 1GB RAM, the device was smooth and basic games like Candy Crush, Temple Run was worked smoothly. Camera: This may be a negative point for the phone as the 5MP camera was not up to the mark. The images were good under daylight, but low light pictures, even with the Flash, were far from clear. The 1.3 MP is just for the namesake. Battery: The device is powered by a 2450 mAh battery. With gaming, internet and calls, the phone lasts at least for 15 to 17 hours. Design: Swipe has embedded the power and volume rocker keys on the same sides which is a little disturbing as the there is no gap between the two. The phone weighs 91 gram and is easy to operate with one hand. The dual SIM phone has 3G connectivity enabled on both slots. The micro USB charging port and earphone jack is on the top side of the phone. Every time you want to make any changes in SIM slots or TF cards, you have to take out the battery. The phone comes with several bloatwares. It would have been better if Swipe had left the choice of apps completely to the user. Verdict: At a price point as low as Rs 3,999, Swipe Konnect Me is a decent choice. The phone justifies its low budget tag and seems to have the singular goal of connecting more people. Swipe Konnect Me is a decent choice, if camera quality doesn't matter to you. Reviewed by Akash Sinha (@akashsinha4969)
