Stress manifests itself in different ways for different people. And these days stress itself has many manifestations. For me, long hours in front of the computer, writing or editing stories or just peering into Google Sheets leads to pressure points around my forehead. Plus, over the week my eyes start feeling lazy and tired. This is where a product like the XECH iSoothe Eye Massager comes into play. The XECH iSoothe Eye Massager is designed like ski goggles and can you look like you are trying the Apple Vision Pro, at least a prototype version. But the product itself is not new and was launched in India before the pandemic. The design is simple for the user who just has to wear it like a goggle with an adjustable headband. On the front, there is a small LED display with a power button and mode selector next to it. With a single tap, you can select the massage option with heat and music. You get a voice alert about the mode you are adding. You can also switch on Bluetooth pairing and get music from your phone. The LED also shows the battery level. Once you wear the iSoothe and switch on the massager you feel comfortable with the felt-like fabric inside giving it a cosy feeling. The massager works with a combination of pressure and moving modules. When the pressure bag inside takes in air, the device starts fitting snugly on your forehead giving a cushion feel to your eyes. And then with the heat mode on you, you can really let the stress out of your system. A 10-minute cycle goes a long way in relaxing you with a medley of pressure building inside the heated massager and the nodules moving around the stress knots, especially the temple. You can play music too to help the process, though I did not find that particularly soothing and preferred to have my AirPods on for the massage sessions. There are multiple modes to choose ranging from auto which combines all the aspects to sleep which focuses on the heating and music. On the negative side, the massager’s power button is a bit stubborn and takes a few attempts to get turned on. This also makes it a bit hard to change the modes. Also, when you are wearing the massager it feels a bit noisy with the pads puffing up with air and the modes changing — the noise cancellation of my AirPods Pro came in handy here. At Rs 7,999, the XECH iSoothe Eye Massager is an interesting product for those who feel stressed out all the time. And the good thing is it can be carried everywhere and can be used in your home, office or even in the car. I wouldn’t mind investing in one.
