Mobile app developed by CoEP students wins international award

The APP called ‘ReFocus Labs’ is a start-up venture by second year BTech students Mayur More and Shashwat Pradhan.

A mobile application developed by a start-up of two College of Engineering Pune (CoEP) students has won AngelHack BlackBerry Challenge of $10,000 and also the people’s choice award,an official release said.

Named as ‘ReFocus Labs’,the start up was a venture of second year BTech students Mayur More and Shashwat Pradhan. The award-winning mobile application helps in finding places around the user. Using contextual filters like the weather,temperature,time,day and social triggers,the application filters out the best possible personalised places,it was said.

Pradhan and More were in news recently for developing brain-teaser game ‘Phase Shift’ on Windows 8. To their credit,the two have launched over 30 mobile applications and games for different smartphones.

They generate funds with their apps and games online and run technology blog ‘Decoding’ ( http://decodingtech.com).

ReFocus Labs currently has eight members from CoEP working on application development.
