It is a common practice for Apple to discontinue old products, especially after introducing their revised versions. In 2024, the company has phased out as many as 15 products, including the highly popular MacBook Air M1 and AirPods with Lightning charging port.

short article insert While some of these products have been in circulation for years, some of them are not even a year old, like the FineWoven iPhone case, which aged pretty poorly when compared to its predecessor—genuine-leather iPhone cases known for their beautifully aged patina.

Do note that although all of these products have disappeared from Apple Stores, some of them are readily available via third-party resellers. However, as the company stops their production, they will cease to exist very soon, disappearing even from third-party stores.

Here are all 15 products that Apple has officially discontinued in 2024.

Apple MacBook Air M1

This is more like the end of an era, as the MacBook Air M1 was a special device from Apple, as it was the last wedge-shaped MacBook Air, and it is also one of the first Macs powered by Apple Silicon. Although Apple has officially discontinued this device, one can easily buy this from third-party platforms for around Rs 60,000. At this price, it is still one of the best laptops that can easily handle most tasks.

iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max

The first set of iPhones with Apple Intelligence was discontinued soon after the launch of the iPhone 16 series. These highly popular iPhones are almost as good as the iPhone 16 Pro series, and one can easily buy them at highly discounted prices. The iPhone 15 Pro (review) is available on Flipkart for around Rs 1,04,000.

If there is one Apple product that we recommend everyone not buy, it is the FineWoven iPhone case, which replaced genuine leather as a more environmentally-friendly option. However, most users of FineWoven iPhone cases started to complain about its quality and durability within the first few months, and Apple has officially discontinued it.

M2 Mac mini

Apple also discontinued its iconic-looking M2 Mac mini and replaced it with a much smaller M4 Mac mini (review). Mac minis are popular among students and developers who want an affordable and reliable computer that is also compact and capable.

Apple also replaced the M3 iMac with the M4 iMac. Again, both look exactly identical, with the latest one being more powerful. The iMac is a perfect all-in-one computer for home and office use, and with the colourful finish, there are more options to choose from.

Apple sold lakhs of iPhone 13 in India during the Diwali sale on platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. Despite being more than three years old, it is still one of the most popular iPhones, especially among those who seek an affordable iPhone. However, post the iPhone 16 series launch, Apple has discontinued the iPhone 13.

M3 MacBook Pro

The launch of the M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max-powered MacBook Pro line-up also meant the M3 MacBook Pro is now discontinued. In terms of design, the M3 MacBook Pro series was almost identical to the M4 MacBook, with performance being the only major difference between the two.

6th Gen iPad mini

Apple also replaced the 6th Gen iPad mini with a new model, capable of Apple Intelligence. Again, in terms of design, both look the same, with performance being the major differentiator, and the iPad mini is popular amongst enthusiasts, who prefer smaller and more powerful tablet computers.
