Threads, Meta’s competitor to X (formerly Twitter) is getting an Instagram-like bookmark feature called ‘Save on Threads’ that allows users to save posts to view later.
In a post on Threads, Instagram head Adam Mosseri recently announced the new feature and said that it is rolling out ‘more broadly’. While the Twitter alternative has had a couple of features added since its launch last year, for months, the platform did not offer users a way to save their favourite posts on the platform.
To save a post on Threads, click on the three-dot menu that appears on the top right of the post and on the menu that appears, tap the ‘Save’ button and you are good to go. In case you want to remove it, tap on the three-dot menu again and choose the ‘Unsave’ option.
If you want to view your saved posts, tap on the profile button from the bottom bar, click on the two-line menu from the top right and choose the ‘Saved’ option. Similar to Instagram, here you will be able to see all your saved posts. Since the new bookmark feature is still rolling out, it may take a while for it to appear on your account.
In the last few months, Threads has been constantly adding new features, with Mosseri recently stating that they are testing the ability to save a draft by swiping down on a post and the option to use the camera directly from the composer.
