Google Assistant is enabled by default on Android phones with Google Play services. While there are several advantages to having Google Assistant, some may prefer to turn it off. Here's how to do it. Since this is done via the Google app, the same steps apply to any Android phone from brands such as Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, Redmi, and more. Here is how you can quickly disable Google Assistant on Android phones. To disable Google Assistant on your phone, look for the Google app and then click on your profile picture in the top right corner. In the next menu, click on Settings > Google Assistant to access all the Google Assistant-related settings on your phone. Once you are on this menu, scroll down and select "General" from the "All settings" sub-menu. On the next page, turn off the toggle, and this will disable Google Assistant on your phone. If you have more than one phone, you must repeat the same process on each device. When you disable Google Assistant on a phone, you won't be able to use services like "Hey Google" voice search assistant, and you also won't be able to use features like ambient mode and Snapshot. When disabling Google Assistant, you also have the option to delete the assistant history, which can be done from myactivity.google.com.
