Google Gemini, previously known as Bard, has managed to stay in the limelight for all sorts of reasons. Previously available on the web, the AI-powered chatbot has now made its way to Android devices where it replaces the old trusty Google Assistant.

While the new digital assistant brings some really cool and useful features, many are looking for ways to switch back to Google Assistant. If you find yourself in the same boat, here’s a quick trick that will help you bring back the good old Google Assistant we all know and love.

1. Open the Google app on your phone either by swiping left from the home screen or launching it from the app drawer.

2. Tap on your profile picture from the upper left corner of the screen and head over to ‘Settings’.

3. Find and click on the option named ‘Google Assistant’ and a new window will appear.

4. Scroll down a bit and tap on ‘Digital assistants from Google’.

5. Here, you will see the option to switch between Gemini and Google Assistant.

6. Choose ‘Google Assistant’  and the app will confirm if you want to go back to the old digital assistant.

7. Now, tap on ‘Switch’ are you are good to go.

The next time you say ‘Okay Google’ or ‘Hey Google’ or trigger the digital assistant by long pressing the power button, Google Assistant will pop up instead of Gemini. While Gemini can leverage the power of AI to summarise documents, plan trips on your behalf and do complex tasks, Google Assistant may be the preferred choice for people who want a faster digital assistant.
