According to a CNN report, spokesman for the airline confirmed that lightning struck Las Vegas-bound Delta Flight 67, as the Boeing 737-900R aircraft was in the takeoff queue in Atlanta. The spokesperson said there were no reports of injuries among the 111 customers and six crew.

The video was uploaded to YouTube reportedly by a person called Jack Perkins, a passenger from another plane who witnessed the event, according to reports by Ruptly. “While filming the line of planes all stacked up during a ground hold in Atlanta on 8/18/15 [August 18], I happened to capture this direct lightning strike on a 737 [Boeing 737-900ER],” wrote Perkins.
