Neerabh Mehrotra, an aspiring LinkedIn influencer, wrote about the “charismatic qualities” of Adolf Hitler. People often air their personal views on social media but it can prove to be problematic if netizens see them as bigoted. A man who reportedly works with Deloitte, a leading global provider of audit and assurance consulting, found himself under scrutiny for a LinkedIn post in which he eulogised Adolf Hitler.
Neerabh Mehrotra, an aspiring LinkedIn influencer who wrote his job title on the website as associate director, Risk Advisory at Deloitte, in a post he titled ‘Friday Inspiration’ wrote about the “charismatic qualities” of Hitler.
“Recently I picked up a book on Adolf Hitler “The Dark Charisma of Adolf Hitler” by Laurence Rees. I always wanted to read about Hitler and the World War II and this book gave me a fair understanding about these topic,” he wrote.
He then went on to list the “imperative qualities of Hitler”, which he said were “charismatic visionary, magnetic speaker, extremely confident, very intellectual and massive action taker”. Mehrotra then concluded the post saying, “Morale – everyone of this planet earth has some good and some not so good qualities. It is totally on us how we use these qualities to influence our own and others life around us.” He then bizarrely wrote the Nazi salute, also known as Hitler salute, “Heil Hitler!”
Of course, so what if he gassed to death lakhs upon lakhs of small children, women and men. We all must “Heil Hitler” as he was so charismatic, intellectual and massive-action taker. What a man!
Dear @Deloitte @Deloitteindia, congrats for such a workforce you nurture, you Nazi… pic.twitter.com/8Nx5g13TbP

To those who are commenting “personal views, nothing to so with his workplace”, I have a question. Is the mindset like a garment that he can leave at home before going to office? Why should his employers not know who his idols are and how he doesn’t know the difference between++

I went to write NET exam in 2017 in one of Navi Mumbai’s decently famous school and there I noticed a board was put up with several famous personalities to encourage and inspire the kids. And there I saw Hitler’s picture amidst Bhagat, Gandhi ji etc. and I went into a shock..

After Mehrotra’s post received backlash on Twitter with many users sharing screenshots of the LinkedIn post, he wrote an apology as well.
Mehrotra shared that he “had no intention” of hurting anyone’s feelings, “should have been more careful,” and would not “write anything about such personalities in the future.” He further asked for forgiveness and for the broader LinkedIn community to “continue our growth journey with full force”.
However, Mehrotra appears to have deleted his LinkedIn account now. A Google search of his name and profile reveals a link to the LinkedIn page but when opened it says “This page doesn’t exist.”
An official spokesperson of Deloitte India responded to the controversy and said the said individual joined the organisation only last month and no longer works for the company.
“The views on social media expressed by the individual, who joined our organisation last month, are not aligned with our shared values and violate our internal policies. This individual no longer works for Deloitte India,” the official spokesperson said.
