The Democratic National Convention (DNC) wrapped up with four days of speeches, tributes, and promises as the party united behind Vice President Kamala Harris, who hopes to become the first woman president of the United States.

Here’s a summary of the key moments:

Day 1: Biden’s farewell and Clinton’s hope for a female President

On the first night, Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden spoke. Clinton, who lost to Donald Trump in 2016, expressed hope that Harris could break the “glass ceiling” and become the first female president.

Biden also attacked his Republican nemesis, Donald Trump, whom he called a “loser” for thinking America is failing.

Obama also remembered his erstwhile vice-president, saying that history will remember Biden as a president who defended democracy at a moment of great danger. “I am proud to call him my president, but I am even prouder to call him my friend… Now the torch has been passed. Now it’s up to all of us to fight for the America we believe in,” Obama said.

Tim Walz closed the third night with an energetic speech, using football metaphors to inspire voters. The evening also included performances and speeches by celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Stevie Wonder, and Kenan Thompson.
