Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden,who was killed in a secret US operation in Pakistan,tops the Time magazine's list of 10 most "notorious fugitives". "Though the official FBI poster listed his occupation as 'unknown,' the Saudi Arabia¿born leader of al-Qaeda was widely known as the most dangerous terrorist on the planet," Time said. Osama,who was on the list of "Top Notorious Fugitives" for more than 10 years,was killed yesterday by US special operations forces inside a heavily fortified compound in Abbottabad,Pakistan,just north of the capital of Islamabad. While the FBI does not list the 9/11 attacks among bin Laden's crimes,he claimed responsibility for them and often praised the hijackers for completing their mission,the magazine reported. 54-year-old bin Laden was originally wanted for allegedly orchestrating the bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. The dreaded terrorist,who created and funded the al- Qaeda network,was accused of being behind a number of atrocities,including the attacks on New York and Washington on September 11,2001. Among others on the Time's list are Ted Bundy,a serial killer and rapist,James Earl Ray,who assassinated civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr,Ruth Eisemann-Schier,wanted for cases of extortion and kidnapping. H Rap Brown and Angella Davis,Daniel Diego,James Bulger,Juan Abrego,Donald Webb and Thomas Holden are the other criminals who feature on the list.
